Nursing, Consultant, Educational, and Health Services Presents A Conference & Retreat On On Being The Exceptional And Effective Director or Instructor of Inservice Education and Staff Development Indianapolis, Indiana Las Vegas, NV New Orleans, LA San Antonio, TX Course Overview and Objectives This two day intensive program is designed to increase the knowledge, skills and abilities of the participant, from a variety of healthcare settings in the area of inservice education and staff development. By the end of day one, the attendee should be able to: 1) Describe issues, challenges, directions in staff education, 2) Discuss a strategy for departmental/program design, 3) Share processes for selecting the right program, focus, and speakers, 4) Discuss a format for managing difficult people, situations, and events, 5) Relate a variety of marketing strategies for educational programs and 6) Discuss at least 10 tips for taking back ones time. By the end of day two, the participant should be ale to: 1) Discuss the values, options, pros and cons to the educational advisory committee, 2) relate needed policies and procedures for the education department, 3) Describe educational issues specific to accreditation/licensure compliance, 4) Share tips on how to speak/present like a pro, 5) Analyze a variety of strategies for spicing up educational programs and 6) Discuss at least 5 techniques for surviving life and work. A variety of teaching formats will be employed including lecture discussion, small group work and/or audiovisual instruction. Schedule - Day I / 6.8 Contact Hours

FACULTY Dr. Gloria Jo Floyd, a recognized author, speaker, consultant and survival strategist has produced and/or presented over 1,000 workshops and seminars attended by thousands nationwide. She has been a consultant to over 250 agencies, schools, businesses, associations, universities, hospitals, home care agencies and related facilities throughout the U.S.; Is also featured in/on over 60 other nationally distributed audio-visuals and educational materials; Nationally recognized as a medical-legal expert in the area of legal and documentation issues and has received numerous awards, citations and recognitions from a variety of groups. Dr. Floyd has held positions as Administrator, Director of Nursing, Education, Surgery and Central Services, Inservice Education Coordinator, Professor, Television and Radio Host, Health Writer, and Staff Nurse. In addition she has owned four businesses, all while being successfully married for over 34 years to Elliott and the mother of 5 children.
